Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c ) (3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
LOCATION: Activities at Delaware and Fourth Street.
MUSIC (11-1PM) We have invited The Mighty Girlzzz to play bluegrass fiddle for us featuring local 13-year old Berkeley Fiddler Tessa Schwartz.
PIE EATING CONTEST (1:30PM) Thank you Bette's To Go for making and DONATING these pies! Adults will race to eat a 9" vanilla creme pie with whipped cream on top. Prize given for 1 winner! Kids will each have a 6" vanilla creme pie. Participant gifts given and 1 winner prize available. Free to enter.
EAST BAY VIVARIUM (10-6PM) Come visit the creatures and if you need more, walk over to their shop at 1827 Fifth Street! Free.
CARNIVAL GAMES (10-6PM) Try your luck and skill at: Hi-Striker, Megawire, Lucky Duck, Cat Rack, Dime Pitch, Ring Toss, Roller Bowler, Ping Pong Fish Bowl. Prizes available. Each game will cost $1 to play (some games allow 3 tries for $1) We will have a ticket booth where you can make your purchases and pick up your prizes!
FOOD (10-6PM) The Boneyard food truck will be parked on 5th Street and Delaware, at the east end of the event. They offer awesome BBQ menus, sides plus a veggie option! Market Hall Foods will be offering a special menu outside their business door at 1786 Fourth Street - see menu noted below in SHOP & EATING ACTIVITIES ON THE STREET.
ART BOOTH (10-5PM) Miki's Paper is sponsoring a lovely art booth where any child can come to fold an origami pinwheel to take with them! Suggested age 3+ Free.
CRITTER CALL CONTEST (4:15PM) Give us your best animal sound on the mic! Prize for most creative, best sounding critter. Free to enter.
BUBBLE SHOW (2-4PM) We have invited Sterling the Bubblesmith to join us for 2 hours. He creates various types of bubbles, be they huge singles or millions of mini bubbles.This is a great show no matter your age, but kids love to scream and chase them!! Free.
PUPPET SHOW (11 & 11:45AM) Caterpillar Puppets and famed puppeteer Joe Leon will be offering two shows. Come laugh with us! All ages welcome! Free.
FACE PAINTING (1-4PM) Our favorite face painter Dinnie will be here from 1-4PM! Come early, the line can get long! Free.
